How It Started
The Scrappy Lion grew out of a spare bedroom in Kansas City. In 2019, sisters Dana and Claire Worthington had accumulated enough paper craft supplies to fill a small warehouse — and enough frustration with existing retailers to start their own shop.
The problems were always the same: inflated prices at chain stores, inconsistent stock online, and shipping times that stretched longer than a month. They figured that if they could source directly from manufacturers and keep a lean operation, they could pass real savings along to fellow crafters without sacrificing quality.
What We Believe
Paper crafting is personal. A scrapbook page holds the weight of a memory, and the supplies you use should be worthy of that. We test every product line ourselves before listing it. If an adhesive fails under heat, a paper bleeds when it gets damp, or a sticker does not peel cleanly, we move on.
We also believe in simplicity. Our website is straightforward, our shipping is flat-rate, and our return policy gives you 30 days with no questions asked. Crafting should be joyful — the buying process should not get in the way of that.
Our Warehouse
We operate from a 4,000-square-foot space in Olathe, Kansas. Orders placed before 2 PM Central ship same-day. Everything goes out via USPS Priority or UPS Ground depending on weight, and most domestic orders arrive within two to four business days.
We carry stock from over 40 brands including American Crafts, Echo Park, Simple Stories, Ranger Ink, and Tonic Studios. If there is something specific you are looking for that we do not currently carry, send us an email — we add new products every week based on customer requests.
